I'm Doctor Barbara. Let's keep the conversation going.

I'm an NHS GP, a women's health educator, and a proud mum of two beautiful girls.
I also live with fibroids and endometriosis. So when I talk about women's health, I bring both my medical knowledge and the experience of being a woman navigating it herself.
As a Black woman doctor, I care about who feels heard, whose symptoms are taken seriously, and who gets access to clear information.
I also visit schools to educate the younger generation about their bodies and help them feel confident in their own skin. My work extends to panel talks, community outreach and health education in the workplace. As a girl mum, helping the next generation feel informed and confident is close to my heart.
My approach? Straight-talking medicine, a little big-sister energy, and space for the questions a short appointment can't always hold. I want women and girls to understand their bodies, feel confident asking questions, and make their health a priority.
From periods to prevention, these are the subjects I bring into everyday conversation.
